EC&O Venues commissioned us to work on the Olympia 125 design and concept for a campaign celebrating the 125th anniversary of London’s leading event, exhibition and conference venue.

In the lineage of historic venues and organisations commissioning leading artists of the time (e.g. London Underground, Kew etc) we decided to invite key contemporary artists to create pieces to celebrate this milestone anniversary. Artists included Rob Ryan, Peter Blake and Sanna Annukka and for the 4th in the series we set a competition open to practising artists, illustrators, designers and students alike. Paul Hicks was the lucky winner!

These artworks featured together with the anniversary logo we designed, in an advertising campaign for key event industry titles, a limited edition set of posters, a microsite, and exterior pennants on the building itself.

In addition to the Olympia 125 design we were commissioned to art direct and design a brochure to launch the newly built West Hall and inform the events industry that the new space was now available to hire, relay technical information and highlight key features of the new state-of-the-art exhibition halls. We commissioned a photoshoot to create a highly image-led brochure to show off the brand new space, combined with easy to digest maps and floor plans. A short fore-edged cover combined with metallic inks, uncoated stock and spot varnish, created a tactile piece with maximum impact and a celebratory tone of voice.
